1) New releases / Re: New releases for October 2021
« on: October 13, 2021, 01:05:59 pm »
There are several carry-overs from previous month to be announced here ...

HotkeyDraw's code is finished. Just waiting for approval from Max to make proper public release 8)

2) pdGUI / Comments on pdGUI
« on: October 13, 2021, 11:05:22 am »
pdGui stands for Public Domain Graphical User Interface.

We already have the first pdGUI program live via torrenttools-trackers.

Feel free to request any other GUI for a command-line functionality you may want to enjoy from a graphical user interface!

When choosing service to others over self-service, everything adds-up.

Even if $1/mo rest assured it is a most-valuable contribution, it sends a clear signal: you appreciate this project, hence by means of this project being appreciated motivation is sustained to bring more of what we offer to life --with our unique twist and "gusto".

it also helps to support the coding hours needed for developing these releases, directly.

In my opinion, making a great living helping others is a call worth following... thriving by assisting others to thrive should be our collective call for an awesome world! :)

Rest assured anything and everything you contribute to the continuation of this public domain project has the utmost positive impact, even in time!

A single contribution can make all the difference. Let it be yours! Supporting those who are choosing to serve is as important as the provided service itself; we're powered by the love to assist each other here.

4) pdInput / Comments on pdInput Linear
« on: October 12, 2021, 06:24:09 pm »
As of October 2021, pdInput Linear is still in a malleable stage, yet it has an important mission to accomplish.

By opening the "pdInput series" of alternative computer input for the disabled (or simply for people who doesn't like to stress their fingers/hands with mechanical devices), this release sets the spirit of the pdInput series.

The first case to address being only vertical mobility of a finger (i.e. toe).

Goal being to translate the movements into either simulated key presses or mouse movements.

The algorithm itself is complete, the bottleneck has been video capture in its several methods. After much pondering we are going with avicap32.dll to support the older machines and have the widest reach.

OpenCV, Java or modern Win10 interfaces are still an option, yet the goal for this month is to have something that works for most Windows computers out there, then we can consider expanding.

...This is a good project that's going to be affecting people's lives quite positively. Both via mechanical input stress prevention AND by virtue of saving hard-earned resources by skipping the buying of special hardware for the disabled.

A good one to offer from our humble community & a great win for the world! :)

5) Supporters' Board / Next month recognition for all contributors
« on: October 12, 2021, 12:15:20 pm »
In order to be the most fair to our supporters, recognition in the programs' about box extends to the next month of contribution.

I.e. Raster d.o.o. made a one-time contribution on September, then his entry is featured both on September AND October.

This ensures those extending their support at the end on the month get featured a full month, while rewarding the early birds with more time.

Remember any amount is equal here; the idea is to give back for the continuation of our community :)

Welcome Jason! So nice to have you here! 8)

BTW Jason is the user behind the "Enfolder" program; we are discussing about a rewrite: "Enfolder2".

...Feel at home, amigo. We're set to success! :)

14) New releases / In the making / Upcoming releases
« on: September 24, 2021, 09:05:16 am »
Our upcoming list, ordered by degree of complexity.

Small:
  • multicopy-contro v0.2.0

Medium:
  • GingerTG v0.1.0
  • pdInput linear v0.1.0

Large:
  • pdCode v0.1.0
  • pdMultisite v0.1.0

Since the most valuable resource is time, the focus is on developing simpler/smaller releases first in order to clear our 52+ new releases per year steady goal.

(BTW, the "+" past the 52 weeks of the year is malleable, yet certain to be more than one extra release on leap years :) "Weekly" is a never-ending schedule LoL)
